GSMD Live Brief: Safe Spaces and Belonging

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This project aims to produce an animated short to promote diverse and inclusive teaching practices within GSMD. Creativity and storytelling are encouraged but the overarching purpose of the film is to introduce key topics and information to teaching staff. It should plant the seeds of inclusive thinking and encourage a thoughtful approach to education.

FILM 1: BELONGING: Feeling welcome and safe, validating and valuing everyone’s experiences and input within a Music HE context. Tips around active inclusion, and inclusive pedagogy- thinking about language and inclusive terms. Asking for input from others on how something could be more inclusive and listening to what minorities have to say.”

FROM THE GSMD BRIEF SENT TO LCC ANIMATION STUDENTS

The final projects/films are a collaboration between GSMD music students and LCC Animation students, with the GSMD students providing score for the animated visuals by LCC students.
